There’s something about winter that has a way of slowing everything down—whether you want it to or not.
Lately, life at the shop has been full in the best way. We’ve been flipping the space from winter to spring, refreshing displays, bringing in new inventory, and carefully building out a new area for what will soon become our future flower shop. We’ve been planning ahead, dreaming a little bigger, and looking toward what’s next.
Then the cold settled in.
With windchills dipping well below zero, the pace changed. Doors closed a little earlier. The streets grew quieter. And in that stillness, we were gently pulled backward—not to dwell, but to remember.
We realized we hadn’t paused to properly reflect on a day that brought so much joy during the last cold snap: Cheviot’s Santa Village & Holiday Market!
When the Cold Brought Everyone Together
Grateful for the Hands That Made It Happen
Events like this don’t happen by accident. They happen because people care deeply about the place they call home.
We’re incredibly thankful to the City of Cheviot, the Cheviot Community Foundation, the Cheviot Eagles, MadTree Brewing, dedicated volunteers, and every single person who braved the cold to support their neighbors and local businesses.
It takes heart, collaboration, and trust to create something like this—and Cheviot has all three.
The Kind of Event That Feels Like Home.
Santa Village had all the right ingredients:
Live music filling the air. Food trucks and local favorites. Support of a local brewery, nearby pubs, small eateries, and talented local vendors adding holiday cheer.
And maybe most importantly—a walkable neighborhood that invites you to slow down, wander, and stay awhile.
Cheviot’s walkability is part of its charm. It’s what allows moments like this to unfold naturally. You park once, take a short stroll, and suddenly you’re part of something.
Looking Ahead With Gratitude.
Planning is underway for more events with the City of Cheviot, the Cheviot Community Foundation, and our community partners, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming in 2026.
At the HIVE MARKET, market days will always have something special waiting. If you’re coming by car, we invite you to stop into the shop to see what’s new. We’re happy to support parking for the short walk down the street to meet our vendors and makers—it’s all part of the experience.
The current cold weather had a way of reminding us what matters most. For us, it’s simple: great people, small businesses, walkable streets, and a community that shows up for one another.
That’s Cheviot. And we’re grateful to be part of it.
As we say goodbye to Santa for another year we also thank you for being part of the story—then, now, and as it continues.
Cheers!
